Hasan hits Bangladesh's first century in Australia

Bangladesh secured a significant victory over Australia, becoming the first team to achieve a Test century score in Australia. On day two in Darwin, Tanzid Hasan Tamim played a pivotal role, scoring an impressive 101 runs off 197 balls. Playing in his second Test match, Tamim's innings led Bangladesh to a formidable total of 351-6, setting a lead of 153 runs. The young opener expressed his joy, praising the favorable conditions and the improving pitch.

Tamim opened the batting with 32 runs on the board and formed a crucial 102-run partnership with Mominul Haque, who was dismissed by Josh Hazlewood for 49. This wicket-keeping alliance was followed by a strong partnership of 93 runs between Tamim and captain Najmul Hossain Shanto. Australia struggled under the intense heat at Marrara Oval, with the tourists' batsmen falling quickly.

After tea, Australia managed to dismiss three batsmen with the new ball, but Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Hasan Mahmud steadied the ship with an unbroken 43-run partnership before the close of play. Despite Australia's late resistance, Bangladesh's dominance remained unchallenged. Australia has never lost a home Test to Bangladesh, having only lost once to the team in previous Tests.
