Gemini app gets 3.7 Flash & setting to turn off corner media watermarks

Google's Gemini 3.7 Flash, released yesterday, primarily powers the Spark agent within the Gemini app. This latest model is now available for chat conversations. Replacing 3.6 Flash on Thursday, 3.7 Flash joins 3.5 Flash-Lite and 3.1 Pro in the model picker across multiple platforms including Android, iOS, web, and macOS. Google highlighted enhancements in reasoning and accuracy for knowledge-intensive areas such as finance, law, and biosciences.

Additionally, 3.7 Flash improves coding, web development, and UI generation capabilities. In the Gemini Spark personal agent, 3.7 Flash enhances efficiency through "improved tool use for Google Workspace apps." Furthermore, Gemini app users can now choose to disable visible watermarks in generated media, which includes corner spark icons on images (Nano Banana), videos (Omni), and songs (Lyria).

However, this feature is unavailable in regions where legal requirements mandate the inclusion of watermarks. Despite the absence in certain regions, invisible SynthID watermarks and C2PA metadata continue to be embedded. This watermark removal feature has been extended to Flow, with integration to Search expected soon. On the web, users can access the new "Media watermark" section by tapping the settings gear icon in the bottom-left corner, offering "On" and "Off" options. By default, "Off" is enabled. This update is gradually being rolled out to all platforms.
