FRSC deploys 2,500 personnel, 50 vehicles for Osun poll

The Federal Road Safety Corps has deployed 2,500 personnel and 50 vehicles to Osun State to manage traffic and ensure safety during the upcoming governorship election. This deployment covers all three senatorial districts and operational areas in the state. The FRSC made the announcement in a statement by its Deputy Corps Commander and Public Education Officer, Ohaeri Osondu.

The deployment includes 2,300 personnel from the Osun Sector Command and 50 personnel from each of the Ondo, Ekiti, Oyo, and Ogun sector commands. In addition to the personnel, the Corps has brought in seven heavy-duty tow trucks and six ambulances to assist with emergency response and rescue operations. FRSC Marshal Shehu Mohammed stated that the deployment is part of the agency's commitment to a peaceful, safe, and credible electoral process, emphasizing their role in maintaining safety and orderliness on the roads.

The Corps will work in strict professionalism, neutrality, discipline, and respect for human rights, and will certify vehicles provided by fleet operators to ensure they meet safety standards. They will also enforce movement restrictions within designated areas during the election, urging motorists and transport operators to comply with lawful directives and plan their journeys accordingly.
