Flash floods hit parts of Puncak Alam after hour-long downpour (VIDEO)

Shah Alam, August 14 — Heavy rain for roughly an hour in the afternoon led to flash floods in several regions of Puncak Alam, where water levels reached up to one foot along Jalan Persiaran Puncak Alam 6, according to Selangor Fire and Rescue Department Assistant Director Ashrul Riezal Asbar. Six firefighters from Bestari Jaya Fire and Rescue Station performed a flood risk assessment in the area at 3:45 pm and found that the road was submerged in a foot of water.

However, no residents were evacuated. Social media users took to platforms like Threads to share updates on the flash flood situation in Puncak Alam. One user posted a video of the conditions in a residential area, expressing nervousness about their car being outside as the flooding began after just an hour of heavy rain. They worried about their car and asked others in the area if they were alright.

Another user shared a photo of flooded roads along Jalan Medan Puncak Alam, mentioning that they had to make a U-turn after several roads had been flooded. They posted in front of the Ninso warehouse, where both left and right roads were closed. A third user shared a video of a flooded car sales center along Jalan Persiaran Puncak Alam.
