Flash floods hit parts of Puncak Alam after hour-long downpour (VIDEO)

Shah Alam, Aug 14 — Heavy rain caused flash floods in several parts of Puncak Alam, according to reports. The downpour lasted for about an hour and resulted in one foot of water along Jalan Persiaran Puncak Alam 6. The Selangor Fire and Rescue Department's operations division assistant director, Ashrul Riezal Asbar, stated that six firefighters from Bestari Jaya Fire and Rescue Station assessed the flood risk in the area around 3:45pm.

They found that the road was submerged in a foot of water but no evacuation of residents was necessary. Social media users have been sharing videos and photos of the situation in Puncak Alam, with one user stating that flooding began following just one hour of heavy rain. The user expressed concern for their car parked outside and worried about others in the area.

Another user shared a photo of flooded roads along Jalan Medan Puncak Alam and had to make a U-turn due to several roads being inundated.
