The company announced its departure on August 13 via its official social media channels. The message directly addressed Pakistan, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to serve the nation.

"Dear Pakistan, it has been an honour to serve you — but on your 79th birthday, we're sad to say goodbye," the announcement read. Despite the somber tone, the company left the reason behind the "goodbye" deliberately vague. It ended the post with "Apka Apna Papa Johns Pakistan," but did not clarify what the phrase meant or the company's next steps.
