Enzo Maresca uncertain over Rodri's future at Man City

Manchester City manager Enzo Maresca expressed uncertainty over the future of midfielder Rodri amid reports from La Liga champions Barcelona. City have rejected an initial bid of £38.5 million from Barcelona for the 30-year-old, who has just one season left on his contract at the Etihad. Barcelona is reportedly prepared to offer around £68 million for Rodri, who was named World Cup player of the tournament during the recent North American event.

The City manager stated, "Anything can happen," during a press conference ahead of their Community Shield match against Arsenal. Rodri returned from back surgery just in time for pre-season training, and Maresca expressed his admiration for the World Cup winner. The manager confirmed that City still have work to do in the final weeks of the transfer window, hinting at potential signings.

Chelsea is also rumored to have made an offer for Chelsea's England midfielder Enzo Fernandez, but Maresca indicated they would not act immediately. The club has spent £116 million on players following Bernardo Silva's exit, and midfielder Tijjani Reijnders is reportedly close to joining Saudi club Al Qadsiah for £51 million. Maresca acknowledged that player movements are normal and that sometimes a player's needs must be addressed, even if it means parting ways with a teammate.
