Elon Musk's Starlink launches satellite internet service in Vietnam

Starlink, Elon Musk's satellite internet service through SpaceX, has begun accepting orders in Vietnam, according to the company's local website. Households can now place deposits for the residential service plan, which starts at 1.13 million dong ($43) per month, plus additional hardware costs of 8.66 million dong. Corporate clients face a minimum monthly subscription of 1.48 million dong.

Vietnam joins Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and East Timor as the sixth Southeast Asian market to offer Starlink services, as per Starlink's coverage map. In March 2025, Vietnam's government granted SpaceX a trial license to launch Starlink, exempting the service from foreign ownership restrictions. During this trial period, which ends at the end of 2030, the number of subscribers is capped at 600,000.

Starlink Services Vietnam, SpaceX's local unit, was established in September 2025 with a charter capital of 30 billion dong ($1.1 million). The government has authorized four Starlink ground gateway stations across Vietnam.
