Dutch journo says Gakpo to Tottenham “quite high,” but still no agreement

According to Blaauwhof, the odds of a successful transfer are now quite high, but Liverpool still needs to give permission for the move.

Blaauwhof's comments follow similar statements made by Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, who reported that Tottenham is in concrete talks with Liverpool regarding Gakpo's transfer. Plettenberg confirmed that the Tottenham club is actively engaging with Liverpool over the player's transfer.

Despite these positive signs, Liverpool has not yet agreed to the deal. A source close to the player has denied any agreements being reached, but a move to Tottenham remains a serious option for Gakpo.

The sudden optimism surrounding the transfer may be attributed to a recent verbal agreement between Ajax and Paris Saint-Germain for the sale of Mika Godts to the French champions. This could potentially lead to Bradley Barcola, who has been linked with Liverpool, being sold, which in turn might make Liverpool more open to allowing Gakpo to leave.
