Dozens of Houthi fighters killed or wounded in failed attack west of Taiz

Yemeni armed forces thwarted a significant Houthi attack near Al-Barh, situated west of Taiz, resulting in substantial casualties among the militants and the destruction of their equipment. At dawn today, the Yemeni forces repelled an assault by Iranian-backed Houthi rebels on their positions in the Al-Barh sector, west of the city of Taiz.

Following intense combat, the militia suffered considerable losses in personnel and equipment. According to a military source cited by the Yemeni Armed Forces Media Center via their official X account, the Houthis assembled a large force of fighters for the assault, utilizing a variety of weapons such as artillery, mortars, and drones.

However, the government military was vigilant, detected the enemy's approach, and responded effectively. The source further reported that the clashes claimed the lives or caused injuries to dozens of Houthi fighters, while several of their vehicles, barracks, artillery pieces, and military assets were either destroyed or set on fire.

The military source emphasized that the attack was part of the Houthis' efforts to recover from recent setbacks on the western fronts, stating that the government forces successfully repelled the assault, inflicted heavy casualties, and compelled the remaining attackers to flee.
