Cabaran reformasi berbeza ketika dalam kerajaan, kata ketua pemuda PKR

PKR Deputy Youth Leader Kamil Munim stated that the party needs to return to the fundamentals of struggle by strengthening grassroots strength to ensure public support translates into election victories. In an AYER KEROH scenario, PKR must accept that the challenge of advocating reform while in government differs from that outside government, viewing this as an opportunity for PKR to practice self-criticism, accept reality, and revamp political strategy.

"The challenge of reform when outside government versus when in government are two different things. Therefore, we cannot give up," said Kamil during a keynote address at the PKR National Women and Youth Congress at the Malaysia International Trade Centre (MITC). He emphasized that PKR must return to the struggle's roots by strengthening grassroots strength to ensure public support converts into electoral victories.

He stressed that winning public support is not just about popularity, but must begin from the bottom by building a strong and organized organization. "We aim to win the support and trust of the people, not just popularity. We must start from the bottom. Popularity alone is not enough. We need to build a strong, organized, and capable organization that can translate public support into victory," Kamil added.

He pointed out that PKR's experiences since the 1998 PRN in Sabah, Johor, and Negeri Sembilan revealed weaknesses at the grassroots level that need to be addressed. "The struggle for reform since 1998 has shown that political waves do not form quickly, requiring time, patience, and continuous effort. In 2004, we were at our most challenging point.

However, ten years after 1998, we successfully sparked a new wave in 2008," Kamil said. He urged PKR members to return to their respective regions with renewed determination, greater enthusiasm, and confidence to continue the reform struggle.
