Bukit Mertajam Hospital makes global green list, ranks among world’s top 250

BUKIT MERTAJAM, Aug 14 — Bukit Mertajam Hospital (HBM) has achieved a remarkable feat by being ranked among the 250 greenest hospitals globally in the World’s Greenest Hospitals 2026 list published by Newsweek and Statista. The Ministry of Health (MOH) highlighted the recognition as a testament to HBM's dedication to adopting climate-friendly healthcare practices and environmental sustainability.

The extraordinary accomplishment places HBM ahead of thousands of hospitals from 36 countries that participated in this inaugural edition of the ranking, which lauds healthcare institutions worldwide for their outstanding commitment to climate-friendly healthcare and environmental sustainability. MOH expressed its pride in the hospital's achievement, emphasizing that it signifies a genuine and ongoing effort to create greener, more efficient, and future-ready hospitals, rather than just a campaign.

The Ministry of Health also extended its congratulations to the entire staff of HBM and the MOH Engineering Services Division, acknowledging their pivotal roles in the hospital's success in achieving this sustainability milestone.
