BUDI95 quota too low? PKR Youth wants 300 litres restored, 350 litres for high-mileage users

The PKR Youth wing (AMK) is advocating for the monthly Budi Madani RON95 (BUDI95) fuel quota to be restored to 300 litres and increased to 350 litres for those with high mobility requirements, according to usage data. AMK chief Muhammad Kamil Ahmad Munim highlighted the call in the context of reduced global oil prices and the government's fiscal capacity, suggesting that there is room for the subsidy quota to be raised.

Munim emphasized that they are not seeking unlimited subsidies, but rather a policy that acknowledges the realities of people's lives, as subsidy reform should be aligned with reforms that benefit the populace. He made these remarks during his policy speech at the AMK National Congress held at the Melaka International Trade Centre (MITC) in Ayer Keroh, Melaka.

Additionally, Munim called for the strengthening of the Bumiputera empowerment policy, aiming to ensure that the next generation not only receives protection but also possesses the capability to become owners in strategic sectors such as housing, property, shares, companies, intellectual property, and technology. He stressed that Malay youths must acquire skills in artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductors, green technology, biotechnology, aerospace, engineering, and cybersecurity, asserting that they should not merely be users of technology created by others, but instead, be creators themselves.
