BREAKING: Ranji Trophy-capped TNPL player fined Rs 1 lakh by BCCI’s ACSU

A Tamil Nadu all-rounder has been barred from the remainder of the Tamil Nadu Premier League season after breaching anti-corruption protocols, according to the Indian Express. The Anti-Corruption and Security Unit (ACSU) of the BCCI recovered a mobile phone from the player during a check at the Player and Match Officials Area (PMOA) on August 10 in Dindigul’s Natham.

The incident came to light when the ACSU reported it to the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA). The TNCA has instructed the team owners not to consider the player for selection until the investigation is complete. The ACSU recommended a fine of Rs 1 lakh for the player, who was caught with the phone, which is a significant violation of the code of conduct for players.

The player was confronted but could not explain the violation, and his reply to the inquiry was also unsatisfactory, leading to the fine. The TNCA summoned the player for an inquiry on Friday, and he has been withdrawn from his franchise, which is currently in Dindigul for the first leg of matches. The franchise's next match has also been affected, and the player has not been included for the fixture on Friday. Other franchises have been informed about the development and the player's withdrawal.
