Balochistan home minister unhurt as convoy comes under attack in Mastung

On Friday, an armed attack targeted the convoy carrying Balochistan Home Minister Mir Ziaullah Langove in Mastung. According to a senior police official, the minister was unharmed during the assault, which took place as his vehicle approached the Khad Kocha area. The official revealed that Langove was en route from Kalat to Quetta.

Among the six individuals wounded in the incident, three were police personnel, all suffering bullet injuries. Dr Sana of Nawab Raisani Memorial Hospital confirmed to Dawn that six people had been brought to the hospital, with two of them in critical condition, while two others were transferred to Quetta for further treatment. Security forces have sealed off the vicinity and initiated a search operation in response to the attack.

Langove, affiliated with the Balochistan Awami Party, assumed office as the provincial home minister in March and previously held the same position, though his appointment was later deemed invalid following his de-notification on August 21, 2024.
