Argentine Rap Star Trueno Teams Up with Maria Becerra for Nostalgic “90s” Video: Watch

Argentine rapper Trueno has collaborated with Maria Becerra on the official video for their song "90s," taken from his fourth studio album TURR4ZO, which was released in April. "90s" features a sample from "Orbitando" by the Argentine new wave group Los Encargados, formed by Daniel Melero in the 1980s. The track fuses pop and rock elements with synthesizers and vintage textures, delving into themes of desire and nostalgia.

The video captures this nostalgia through grainy black-and-white footage, split screens, close-ups, and period-inspired styling. Agustín Puente and Clemente Bruzzone were the directors of the clip, making it the fourth visual from the album following "X UNAS LLANTAS," "TURRAZO," and "PUMAS" featuring Argentine rapper Milo J. TURR4ZO incorporates musical history into TURR4ZO, incorporating samples from various Argentine artists such as Gustavo Cerati, Luis Alberto Spinetta, Sandro, Carlos Gardel, and Los Abuelos de la Nada.

The album's creators described it as "a love letter to Argentina," using sampling as a tribute to the country's musical traditions while reimagining them via hip-hop. The video was released as Trueno embarked on an international tour, which included performances alongside Gorillaz in the UK, collaborations with Cypress Hill, making his Fuji Rock debut in Japan, and a show at Central Park's SummerStage in New York.
