Anwar ada ruang ubah strategi tapi masa makin suntuk, kata KJ, Shahril

Former Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin shared his thoughts on the current political landscape in Malaysia with Shahril Hamdan, who was the former chief press officer of Umno. According to Khairy, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim still has room for political strategy adjustments and regaining focus on reformism in the wake of recent electoral losses.

He warned that the consistent pattern of Malay voter support for Barisan Nasional (BN) and Perikatan Nasional (PN) in Johor and Negeri Sembilan could have dire consequences for Anwar's future. Khairy believes that if this trend continues in Melaka and amongst Malay voters, Anwar will no longer be able to win the next general election.

He suggested that Anwar has two options: either resume the promised reforms or utilize government power to strengthen his political position ahead of the polls. Khairy argued that Anwar is currently more inclined towards the latter option. The disputes over constituency allocations for some PKR MPs, linked to the past leadership of Rafizi Ramli, he claimed, are more significant than a mere power struggle within PKR, as they touch upon PH's promise of fairness in distributing constituency allowances to MPs.

Khairy emphasized that this is a clear example of using power to reinforce the second term, as it demonstrates that Anwar will not grant any favor unless he has people's support. Shahril, on the other hand, expressed his belief that Anwar still has a chance to change the situation, but the timeframe for such a change is rapidly shrinking.

He noted that the longer Anwar takes to make changes, the harder it will be for him to regain the public's trust. According to Shahril, Anwar's advantage over other politicians is his well-established image and reputation built over decades before becoming Prime Minister. He also urged Anwar not to be overly egoistic when admitting mistakes, as it could help regain public trust.

Shahril suggested that admitting a mistake is not necessarily weakening Anwar; rather, it could help restore public confidence.
