Anand Vihar, Udhna stations to get new passenger holding areas ahead of festival rush

Indian Railways is set to introduce new Yatri Suvidha Kendras, or passenger holding areas, at the Anand Vihar and Udhna railway stations in anticipation of the upcoming festive rush. These facilities aim to provide passengers with more organized waiting spaces and enhanced amenities. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw recently inspected the progress of the projects at both stations, focusing on accelerating the ongoing work and addressing any site-related issues to ensure timely completion.

The Yatri Suvidha Kendra at Anand Vihar Terminal will be carried out in two phases. Phase I will provide a dedicated waiting area capable of accommodating around 4,000 passengers, with construction of the foundation and structural elements already underway. Phase II will further increase the capacity, allowing the facility to support approximately 7,000 passengers once completed.

In contrast, the Yatri Suvidha Kendra at Udhna Railway Station will be designed to accommodate a larger number of passengers at once, up to 15,000. Once finalized, this facility will offer improved connectivity between the waiting area and the platforms, helping to alleviate crowding and facilitate smoother movement of passengers within the station.
