Afridi announces to turn every nook, corner into D-Chowk

Islamabad, on Thursday, saw Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi announce his intention to turn the entire country into D-Chowk, after being denied a meeting with jailed PTI leader Imran Khan. Speaking to reporters near Adiala Jail, Afridi expressed his frustration at the government's refusal to allow a meeting with Khan, stating that they had no intention of permitting it.

Afridi warned that if the opportunity to meet Khan was not granted by 10pm that day, he would call on PTI workers to take to the streets across the nation. He declared this to be his final attempt to meet Khan before marching to Islamabad on September 27, promising a massive long march that would paralyze the capital and humiliate the current regime led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Afridi claimed that a single call for protest from him could mobilize hundreds of thousands of people, a testament to the support he claims he enjoys from the masses. Despite the official visitation time for prisoners having ended, Afridi vowed to wait outside the jail and pledged that his lawmakers would turn every interchange across the country into D-Chowk if another meeting with Khan was denied.

Afridi criticized the treatment of a former prime minister, calling it shameful and reminiscent of a sham democracy. He accused the powers that be of pushing the country towards anarchy, blaming both the rulers and their handlers for the country's current state of distress. Heavy police presence and barricades were in place to prevent any incidents during the visitation day, as a large number of PTI supporters gathered to meet Khan.
