Abu Dhabi Police warn e-scooter riders against unsafe habits and distractions

Abu Dhabi Police issued a warning to e-scooter riders, urging them to adhere to traffic rules and safety measures to prevent accidents and injuries. The force emphasized that unsafe riding practices can heighten the risk of collisions, advising riders to wear protective helmets, reflective clothing, and use designated cycling and scooter lanes.

Abu Dhabi Police instructed riders to ride in the correct direction, follow speed limits, traffic signs, and road regulations. They also cautioned against carrying passengers or heavy loads, as these factors can compromise the scooter's balance and control.

The police force further cautioned riders against wearing headphones in both ears while riding, as this can distract users and hinder their ability to hear warnings or surrounding traffic. Abu Dhabi Police stressed the importance of heightened awareness and responsibility among riders, asserting that adherence to safety instructions and traffic regulations helps safeguard lives and contributes to a safer road environment for all.
