You have fewer than 200 days to migrate all your old Pokémon from Pokémon Bank to Pokémon Home, or they're gone forever

The Pokémon Company has announced that it will be shutting down Pokémon Bank, the storage app that was originally released for the Nintendo 3DS in 2013. The service is set to go offline on February 26th, 2027, so trainers still have some time to access their old Pokémon and begin migrating them into new games. Pokémon Bank allowed players to import their Pokémon from games such as Black & White, Black & White 2, X & Y, Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, and Sun & Moon into a central location, making it convenient for competitive players and those seeking shinies.

Despite Nintendo shutting down the 3DS online store in 2023, which delisted Pokémon Bank, the software remained accessible for a while. However, Nintendo and The Pokémon Company have decided to close support for Pokémon Bank soon. If players want a central hub for all their Pokémon that is compatible with Switch games, they can use Pokémon Home, which was introduced in 2020.

The Company has recommended that trainers transfer any Pokémon left in their Pokémon Bank account to Pokémon Home, as they will disappear forever after the service's end of service.

Pokémon Bank, a Nintendo 3DS application that allows players to deposit or withdraw Pokémon they have befriended in Pokémon titles on that system from online Boxes, will be ending service on February 25th, 2027, at 7pm PST. Players are advised to move their Pokémon from Pokémon Bank to Pokémon Home before the latter's release. While the news is not entirely grim, the announcement also brings good news: Pokémon Home compatibility will be added to FireRed and LeafGreen as of October 2026.

This speculation has led to discussions about potential ports of Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald, though nothing official has been announced yet.
