VIDEO: Ex-Anambra debate star turns bricklayer after mother’s death

Richard Abraham, a former debate star from Aguata Zone in Anambra State, has revealed how his life took a drastic turn after the death of his mother. Once a highly regarded speaker who was given the title of "Honourable" by then Governor Willie Obiano, Richard's dreams of further education were abruptly halted by the tragic event.

His story emerged when his former teacher, Joy Oñuchukwu Anopuechi, contacted him to inquire about his current circumstances. Anopuechi described Richard as a "bright and promising" young man, highlighting his exceptional speaking abilities. However, without the support of his family after his mother's passing, Richard was forced to abandon his studies and take up menial jobs to survive.

He recounted how he started working at car washes and later found employment with organizations that cooked for ceremonies. Now, Richard is working as a bricklayer, striving to make ends meet while hoping to return to school and complete his secondary education. His former teacher, despite being saddened by his current situation, expressed pride in his resilience and optimism for the future.

Anopuechi has called upon the public to assist Richard, particularly in helping him register for his O'Level examinations and continue his education.
