US could not verify Israeli warnings of Iran plots against Trump, sources say

US intelligence agencies have been unable to independently verify Israeli warnings suggesting Iran planned to assassinate President Donald Trump, according to sources cited by Reuters. The Israeli intelligence reports, which have been relayed to US intelligence and directly to White House officials, detail multiple potential assassination plots against Trump, including sniper attacks, knife assaults at public events, and the use of shoulder-launched missiles on Air Force One during international summits.

These warnings began in June of the previous year and became more frequent as tensions escalated towards the US decision to invade Iran in February. The most detailed of these threats emerged just prior to the NATO summit in Ankara in July of the same year, when Israeli officials briefed the White House on intelligence suggesting Iran might attempt to kill Trump while he was aboard Air Force One.

Despite these alarming reports, CIA analysts have been unable to substantiate some of the specific assassination threats attributed to Iranian intelligence since early last year.
