Unal completes move from Bournemouth to Getafe

Enes Unal has transferred from Bournemouth back to his former club Getafe. The Turkish striker, aged 29, made the move on a free transfer, although Bournemouth could receive up to £1.3 million in bonuses, along with 20% of any future sale. Unal faced an injury-ridden period in England, appearing in 58 games and scoring five goals for the Cherries.

The club was keen to reduce their wage bill, and he joined on loan from Getafe in January 2024, eventually making the move permanent for around £13 million later that year. Unal was well-liked within the squad, leaving Bournemouth as a positive contributor both in and out of the game, according to a statement from the club. AFC Bournemouth expressed their gratitude to Unal for his efforts during his time with the team and wished him the best for the future.

Now, with the summer transfer business nearing completion, the club is working on a deal that would allow full-back Max Aarons to leave the club.
