Kuldeep, Jadeja, Suthar: Will India play three left-arm spinners in Galle? Coach drops hint

India may field three left-arm spinners in the upcoming First Test against Sri Lanka in Galle, according to bowling coach Morne Morkel. The coach revealed that Kuldeep Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, and Manav Suthar bring different skills to the attack and could form a formidable bowling combination. Kuldeep offers an attacking left-arm wrist spin, Jadeja is known for his accuracy, while Suthar employs a more traditional left-arm spin approach.

Morkel emphasized that each bowler possesses unique strengths, with Kuldeep being the most experienced and a class act. He further stated that the decision to include three spinners in the squad is not a significant concern for the team. Morkel also mentioned that the Galle pitch is expected to favor spinners as the Test progresses, adding that traditionally, such conditions have been beneficial for spinners.

The coach highlighted that the left-arm spin trio presents an attacking bowling option for India, showcasing their ability to take 20 wickets collectively. Meanwhile, India is still undecided on their second seamer to pair with Mohammed Siraj, with options including Gurnoor Brar and Prasidh Krishna, both with limited Test experience.

Morkel assured that either player would be ready if selected, noting that the biggest challenge for the new seamer will be adapting to the intense heat and humidity in Galle.
