Three security guards charged with assault after Sea Bears star injured outside nightclub

Three security guards are facing assault charges after allegedly injuring Winnipeg Sea Bears star Teddy Allen outside a nightclub earlier this month. Allen, 28, sustained "significant health injuries" and was taken to the hospital. The incident occurred on August 3 at the Palomino Club. The guards turned themselves in on Wednesday and were arrested, charged with assault causing bodily harm.

They were released on undertakings. Allen, who is out of the hospital and recovering at home, expressed gratitude for the support he has received but stated that he would not provide further details about his injuries. The Sea Bears are set to play the Brampton Honey Bears for the league championship later in the day. The attack on Allen is alleged to have happened within hours of the team's return from their regular-season finale in Langley, B.C. The club has cooperated with the Winnipeg Police Service's investigation.
