Thailand, China launch Falcon Strike 2026 air force exercise

Thailand and China have commenced a joint air force exercise, Falcon Strike 2026, in northeastern Thailand. This exercise, held at Wing 23 in Udon Thani province, involves fighter jets, airborne early warning and control aircraft, and aerial refueling maneuvers. The Royal Thai Air Force and the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Air Force are participating in this training, which aims to bolster military cooperation and bolster their air operations abilities.

Joint missions and scenarios will be conducted to enhance their ability to collaborate and exchange knowledge in air operations. The exercise, which runs from August 10 to 21, also includes a humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HADR) component, simulating a large-scale flood situation. This component involves medical team deployment, air transport, and medical evacuation, as well as improved coordination among relevant agencies for faster and more effective emergency response.

The Royal Thai Air Force emphasizes that this exercise aims to deepen ties and mutual understanding between the two air forces while boosting their readiness for joint operations and humanitarian missions.
