The 13th marked a confrontation between the General Officers' Association (G.O.A.) and the Ministry of National Defense (MND) over the G.O.A.'s claim that Defense Minister Park Won-soon stated that the current system of military academies should be maintained while considering education reform. The G.O.A. demanded an explanation and apology, as well as an open discussion with President Lee Jae-myung.

The G.O.A. criticized the MND for denying statements made during the G.O.A.'s meeting with Defense Minister Park. The G.O.A. insisted that they should be informed about the review process and outcomes of the education reform proposal. The G.O.A. stated that they would consider boycotting the official hearing for the establishment of the new military academy if they did not receive satisfactory explanations and apologies by the 26th.

The MND strongly refuted the G.O.A.'s claims, stating that the Minister had only promised to review the education reform proposal while considering the creation of a new military academy. The MND's spokesman emphasized that the Minister had not admitted to maintaining the current system, and that the G.O.A. had provided only theoretical responses to the various viewpoints presented by the MND.
