Redditor Large_Customer_3840 has found a solution by integrating the AMD GPU into a Steam Machine as an eGPU. This was achieved by utilizing an NVMe slot with an NVMe to Oculink adapter, and then connecting the NVMe drive via a USB-C NVMe adapter to boot SteamOS.

Upon activation, the RX 9070 XT functioned seamlessly as the primary monitor. The only issue encountered thus far is a black screen problem, which can be resolved by connecting the Steam Machine to a TV. Other than that, the hybrid setup of a Steam Machine and AMD GPU appears to be running smoothly. Initial tests have shown the system achieving over 100 fps on High settings in Crimson Desert.

Currently, the setup requires the removal of the Steam Machine's backplate, but with some modifications to the case, it could become a permanent upgrade. The addition of water cooling might also enhance the performance.
