Singer Saint Janet complained of chest pain, died at hospital — Children

The children of the late Nigerian Juju and Highlife musician, Saint Janet, have revealed that she complained of chest pain and difficulty breathing shortly before her death. According to their mother, Omowunmi, Saint Janet had performed at a show in Sango, Ogun State the previous night and showed no signs of illness before returning home.

She performed at the show, received applause, and returned to her home, where she insisted on preparing her own meal. Omowunmi noticed her mother clutching her chest after she finished cooking and observed irregular breathing. Her children took her to the hospital, where she was admitted shortly after arrival and given oxygen. Despite immediate medical attention, Saint Janet lost her pulse shortly after.

Her daughter, Fola, arrived at the hospital to learn of her mother's passing. The singer's manager confirmed that St Janet performed well at the show in Sango and remained among the audience afterward. The family has established a committee to manage her burial arrangements and has initiated a nine-day period of prayer and thanksgiving.

Her funeral is scheduled for August 25 and 26. Saint Janet was a renowned Juju and Highlife musician known for her lively performances, energetic stage presence, and popularity within Nigeria's music community.
