Shelton shrugs off injury scare to reach Montreal final

Shelton, the defending champion, will face fellow American Brandon Nakashima in the title match on Thursday. Nakashima, who beat Spanish teenager Rafael Jodar 7-6 (7/3), 6-4, will be playing his fifth final of his career.

Shelton praised the performance, stating it was his super happy with the performance. He saved all four break points he faced and won 81% of his first-serve points. The American highlighted that Learner Tien presented a lot of problems in his game, requiring intelligent tennis to overcome.
