‘He can be a great addition,’ says Shukri Conrad about Marco Jansen’s twin, Duan

Duan Jansen, the twin brother of Proteas star Marco Jansen, is set to get his first chance at the international stage when he makes his debut in a T20I series against Zimbabwe and Namibia in Windhoek over the coming weeks. While Duan has been overshadowed by his more famous brother for much of his career, he is determined to make the most of this opportunity to showcase his talent and establish himself as a valuable asset to the national side.

Marco made his Proteas debut back in 2021 and has since played 83 matches across all formats, while Duan, at 26, will likely make his international bow during this series. Proteas coach Shukri Conrad praised Duan's impressive domestic season, which culminated in a man-of-the-match performance against the Lions and secured the CSA One Day Cup title.

Conrad stated that Duan's all-round abilities make him a strong candidate to join the Proteas' squad, noting that having more quality all-rounders will benefit the team. Shukri also highlighted other young talents in the squad, including Jordan Hermann and Eathan Bosch, who are eager to prove themselves and potentially earn more caps before stepping up to the big stage.
