Rubrik’s lessons from one month with Mythos Preview

Security and AI firm Rubrik gained access to Anthropic's Mythos Preview after joining Project Glasswing, learning their engineering capacity couldn't match the model's vulnerability-hunting speed. Arvind Nithrakashyap, Rubrik's CTO and co-founder, discovered Mythos finding complex chains of vulnerabilities that traditional tools missed.

This massive influx of findings stretched their team's capacity, forcing them to abandon human-driven remediation. Instead, Rubrik created an automation layer to manage tool calls and add context, prioritizing high-quality findings for engineers. They first ran a whole-repository scan with Mythos, then refined the process with targeted passes to reduce noise and focus on actionable findings.

Rubrik concluded that existing engineering workflows aren't prepared for AI-led discovery and that most require more engineering rigor to handle the increased demand from models like Mythos.
