Rocky's death: 'No intention to kill,' says man involved in dog-catching operation

Muhammad Shah Hizam, widely known as Shah, has vehemently denied allegations that he tortured and killed the dog Rocky in Klang. Shah clarified that he did not harbor any intent to harm any animal and categorically stated that he abhors animal cruelty. The controversy erupted after a video surfaced, claiming that he was involved in Rocky’s alleged demise at Taman Telok Gedong Indah, Klang, on July 29.

Shah expressed his distress over Rocky’s demise but maintained that he was merely participating in an operation to capture stray dogs. During a press conference in Bukit Jelutong, Shah was supported by independent preacher Firdaus Wong Wai Hung and lawyers Muhammad Rafique Rashid Ali, Mahmud Jumaat, and Akif Rusli, who affirmed that Shah was not acting alone during the operation and had been invited by the Kawasan Rukun Tetangga (KRT) Jalan Sama Gagah, Taman Teluk Gedung Indah, Klang.

The operation, organized by the Klang Royal City Council (MBDK), involved the use of a loop to capture the strays, which was provided by MBDK, not by Shah. According to Rafique, the situation escalated when the alleged owner of Rocky intervened, leading to a struggle and ultimately, Rocky’s death. Rafique further disputed claims that an X-ray image, alleging a fractured spine in Rocky, was genuine, stating that they had not verified the image's authenticity.

Shah's legal team is currently marshaling social media posts containing death threats and defamatory statements, vowing to pursue legal action against those who tarnish his reputation.
