PSV winger Driouech at Ibrox before expected Rangers move

Moroccan winger Couhaib Driouech, 24, is currently at Rangers' training ground at Ibrox Stadium to watch them face Jagiellonia Bialystok in a Scottish Premiership match. The move from PSV Eindhoven is expected to be finalized on Friday. Driouech, primarily a left-sided player, netted nine goals and provided eight assists in 40 matches during the 2022-23 season with PSV.

However, he primarily served as a substitute, starting just once in the club's eight Champions League games and coming on as a replacement 24 times in the Eredivisie. Representing Morocco at the Under-23 level, Driouech spent three seasons with Dutch side Excelsior before moving to PSV in 2024. He will be the 10th player signed by Rangers this summer and the second winger, following the acquisition of Japanese player Daisuke Yokota from Hannover last week.

Rangers chairman Andrew Cavenagh indicated on Monday that the club anticipates signing between three to five more players, while some may depart, including midfielder Mohamed Diomande, who has been sold to Turkish side Corum. Driouech, who progressed through the youth system and made his professional debut with Heerenveen, gained prominence at Excelsior, where he played 101 matches and scored 16 goals before his transfer to PSV.

Known for his speed, precise finishing, and ability to operate on either flank, Driouech could potentially represent France or the Netherlands, but opted to play for Morocco, a squad that triumphed in the Under-23 Africa Cup of Nations.
