Police arrest four over plot to assassinate businessman for land

The Anambra State Police Command has apprehended four individuals in connection with a scheme to murder a businessman and seize his land in Ukwulu, Dunukofia Local Government Area. The suspects, whose ages range from 36 to 42, were apprehended at various locations in Ukwulu and Amichi on Wednesday. The arrests were made possible due to strategic intelligence gathered by the state Commissioner of Police, Nnanna Ama.

The Rapid Response Squad and Agunechemba security personnel, along with Nnewi and Amichi officials, collaborated to disrupt the alleged criminal plan. During the operation, two firearms and ammunition were seized. Preliminary findings suggest the suspects were involved in plotting to kill a citizen and claim his land. The police are now investigating further to uncover the full story and determine the roles of each suspect.

The Commissioner of Police highlighted the success of the command's intelligence-led policing strategy, which aims to prevent crimes and protect lives and property.
