Philips, Shell targeted by hacking group

Two major corporations, Philips and Shell, have been targeted by a hacking group known as Cl0p, according to a statement released on the group's website. The group claims to have stolen large amounts of data from nearly 50 companies across the globe, including the aforementioned firms, as well as Fiserv and GE. Philips confirmed that it had been the victim of an attempted cybersecurity compromise of a specific enterprise server, stating that the incident does not affect customer environments.

Shell, for its part, acknowledged a possible incident and is working with security teams to investigate the matter. Both Philips and Shell have emphasized that they are collaborating with experts to assess the situation and that no customer data has been compromised so far. The hacking group, which exploits software vulnerabilities, has been active in targeting multiple companies simultaneously, focusing on zero-day vulnerabilities rather than specific corporations.
