Phili delighted as Chiefs outsmart Sekhukhune

Kaizer Chiefs' new forward Langelihle Phili celebrated as his team secured a 2-0 victory over Sekhukhune United in the Betway Premiership at FNB Stadium on Wednesday night. Phili, who recently joined Chiefs from Stellenbosch, was named Man-of-the-Match for his role in the second-half surge that resulted in goals from Luke Baartman and Mduduzi Shabalala.

The win propelled Chiefs to the top of the early Premiership table. "I am at a loss for words but extremely happy to contribute to the team," Phili stated to SuperSport TV after the match. "We really needed this win and put in the effort. It was a collective achievement... I am thrilled to be part of this team. Moving forward, I only aim to keep delivering my best for the team."

Phili fulfilled a lifelong ambition by signing with Chiefs after leaving Stellenbosch. "This is obviously a long journey with many highs and lows, but representing one of Africa's most prominent clubs is an honor and privilege," Phili added. "I am just grateful that the chairman (Kaizer Motaung) saw fit to give me the opportunity to play for the team."
