Hamzah Zainudin, the president of the Wawasan Party, emphasized the importance of Malay unity in ensuring political stability and allowing the country to advance together, as reported by FMT. He clarified that no minority should fear Malay unity since the majority had shown readiness to cooperate since independence. "There should be no fear among Malays when they unite," he stated, "they should be more joyful because when Malays unite, the nation will be safe and everyone can live peacefully."

Hamzah's comments followed heated discussions about Malay-Muslim unity among the Barisan Nasional (BN) and Perikatan Nasional (PN) parties for the upcoming PRN elections in Negeri Sembilan. While both blocs campaigned on the Malay unity-Islam platform, it remains unclear if the cooperation will continue for future elections, including the potentially early PRN Melaka.

Given that Malays and Bumiputeras make up roughly 70% of the population, Hamzah argued that division among the majority could destabilize politics and hinder economic development. He emphasized that Malay unity should not be seen as an end goal but a foundation for cooperation among all communities. "The future of the nation lies in its economy," he said, "it's not about whether a particular community should unite."

The main goal should be to build the nation together, and "together" means all communities in the country. Hamzah stressed that Malaysia's problems become more complex when different communities and political groups pursue separate agendas, with each group prioritizing its interests over others. He said Wawasan aims to create a shared national agenda based on trust, enabling both the majority and minority groups to work together for the nation's future.

"The most important thing is that we trust each other." The main goal should be a collective agenda, with all parties considering Malaysia's future, according to Hamzah, who positioned Wawasan as a bridge between political parties and society, with a focus on competence, integrity, stability, and cross-community cooperation.
