Over 100 flyers stranded as SpiceJet Pune-Dubai flight delayed by 8 hours

On Wednesday, an eight-hour delay forced over a hundred passengers to wait at Pune International Airport for most of the night on SpiceJet flight SG-51. The flight, scheduled to depart Pune at 9 pm and land in Dubai at 10.55 pm, took off at 5 am the following day and arrived in Dubai around 6.50 am, nearly eight hours late. Passengers reported a lack of communication, food, and medical assistance from the airline during their long wait.

Surender, a flyer who experienced the ordeal, said passengers received no updates or clarity during the hours-long wait. "We received no updates, no clarity. This is unacceptable," he wrote, adding that over 100 passengers were affected. The Indian Express has sought comment from SpiceJet regarding the complaints. In other recent incidents, a Delhi-Pune flight was cancelled after its air-conditioning system malfunctioned, leaving passengers stranded for six hours, and another Pune-Delhi flight had passengers complain about a lack of food and beverages during a long journey. These incidents raise questions about SpiceJet's preparedness and passenger handling protocols.
