No Politician Paid For My US Trip – Yaw Dabo

Kumawood actor Yaw Dabo has clarified that his recent trip to the United States was not sponsored by any politician or the government. In an interview with Nana Romeo on Okay FM, he stated that his flight ticket was covered by Dr ‘Time Daso’ of Medimafo Herbal Hospital, while he personally paid for his accommodation and other expenses during the trip. Yaw Dabo emphasized that the sponsorship was limited to his airfare and did not extend to his other expenses.

The actor, known for his frequent travels to watch major football tournaments, particularly during World Cup seasons, explained that this was not a new occurrence for him. He highlighted that he has consistently visited these tournaments every four years during World Cup seasons. When asked about the nature of the attention he receives, Yaw Dabo dismissed the notion of deliberately making controversial statements or creating trending content.

Instead, he attributed his popularity to the love and support of his fellow Ghanaians, noting that whatever he does or says tends to become a trend among them.

Yaw Dabo also recounted his encounter with former Chelsea and England defender, John Terry, during the World Cup. He said that the actor's popularity and activities surrounding the tournament caught Terry's attention, leading to him making contact with Yaw Dabo. Terry obtained the actor's contact information and called him, marking a significant moment in the actor's career.
