NIA to create over 120 jobs as it rolls out 24-hour Prestige Centres

The National Identification Authority (NIA) in Ghana is set to create over 120 job opportunities as it launches 24-hour Prestige Centres across the country. This initiative will see more than 20 centres established in various regions, enabling citizens to access Ghana Card services beyond the Authority's usual operating hours. The move aligns with the government's 24-hour economy agenda and aims to enhance access to essential identification services.

NIA Executive Secretary, Wisdom Kwaku Deku, unveiled the plans on Wednesday, August 12, during a visit to the Authority's first 24-hour Prestige Centre in Accra. He revealed that two additional centres would open in Kumasi on the weekend, with more facilities planned for other parts of Ghana. Deku explained that the centres will operate a three-shift system to ensure services are available 24/7.

The services offered will include first-time Ghana Card registration, replacement of lost or damaged cards, and updating personal information. The NIA plans to partner with private entities to create these centres, with the goal of opening approximately 20 centres and generating more than 120 employment opportunities. The move is expected to benefit individuals with demanding work schedules, including those requiring services on weekends, and those needing urgent replacements or updates to their identification records.
