NCSA boosts digital defences through advanced data governance training

Doha, Qatar - The National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA) has bolstered Qatar's digital defenses by conducting an advanced cybersecurity training program focused on data governance. The initiative, organized by the NCSA's National Cyber Strategies and Policies Department, aimed to equip professionals from both public and private sectors with essential skills to safeguard critical digital assets.

Participants engaged in interactive sessions that emphasized practical applications of the National Data Classification Policy V3.0. This policy enables organizations to categorize information based on sensitivity and risk levels, a crucial step in protecting sensitive data streams. The training also covered the National Information Assurance (NIA) Standard V2.1, ensuring that organizational systems and governance processes align with Qatar's cybersecurity directives.

Rather than relying solely on theoretical knowledge, the curriculum provided a clear, logical framework for developing, implementing, and maintaining robust Information Security Management Systems (ISMS). Key areas of focus included 'Asset Identification & Categorization,' 'Standards Compliance,' and 'Process Maintenance.' These components work together to establish protocols for protecting sensitive data, ensuring compliance with national standards, and implementing continuous monitoring to sustain long-term digital resilience.

By delivering a series of technical capacity-building workshops throughout the year, the NCSA is continuously raising national compliance standards and strengthening Qatar's digital ecosystem against evolving cyber threats.
