Mnet-born rock band Splayit turns survival show run into debut album

K-rock band Splayit, formed through the Mnet reality show Steal Heart Club, has unveiled its debut album titled SPLAY: CHAPTER 01. The album debuted on Thursday, entering a Korean rock scene that has been steadily welcoming new acts. Comprising vocalist Yoonchan, drummer Eunbin, keyboardist and sub-vocalist Kyunguk, guitarist Aydn, and bassist Eunchan, the band's name blends "splay" and "play it," symbolizing their goal of highlighting each member's unique qualities through their music.

Just before the album's release at 6 p.m., the band took their first official stage at Ilchi Art Hall in Seoul's Gangnam District. During the performance, they played all the tracks from their debut album while discussing their journey. Yoonchan expressed his excitement, saying, "When I first heard we were debuting, I thought the five of us would make our journey so much fun."

He also praised the synergy among the band members and expressed gratitude to the fans and staff who supported them. Aydn added, "The name fit even before we chose it. It suits the kind of music we make and the ambitious direction we're heading towards."
