MCIT, Qatar Youth Hostels conclude enhanced tourism camp

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and Qatar Youth Hostels concluded an enhanced tourism camp utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. The camp, attended by 14 young men and women, took place as part of the Knowledge program run by Qatar Youth Hostels.

The three-day training, delivered by MCIT's Studio 5 initiative, provided six hours of practical instruction to the participants. The curriculum focused on implementing AI and programming technologies, as well as user interface and user experience (UI/UX) design principles, to create digital solutions for trip planning and enhancing the overall tourist experience.

The participants developed prototypes for smart mobile applications that address various aspects of tourism, including overcoming cultural and linguistic barriers, offering emergency assistance, and guiding visitors to less-known tourist attractions. Additionally, they created an intelligent tourist conversation assistant named Travel AI Chat.

This AI-powered chatbot enables visitors to Qatar to receive immediate answers to their queries and directs them to the appropriate authorities for tourist and public services based on their specific needs.
