Lee's approval rating hits record low since inauguration: poll

President Lee Jae Myung's approval rating has plummeted to its lowest point since his inauguration, according to a recent poll. Conducted by the National Barometer Survey from Monday to Wednesday, Lee's approval rating dropped to 49%, a 4 percentage point decline from the previous poll two weeks ago. This marks the first instance in the biweekly survey where his approval rating has fallen below the 50% threshold.

Conversely, disapproval of his performance surged by 6 percentage points to 43%. When it comes to the government's real estate policies, a majority of respondents, 56%, expressed dissatisfaction with the current administration's handling of the matter. Meanwhile, 34% deemed the administration's approach satisfactory.

The poll also shed light on public sentiment towards the government's recently introduced property tax revision plan. While 46% of respondents supported the plan, 34% were opposed to it. When asked about the potential impact of the revision, 55% of respondents anticipated an increase in jeonse and monthly rental prices, while 27% expected minimal change, and 8% predicted a decline in prices.
