Kingsley Agyemang denies scholarship corruption allegations, says investigations will vindicate him

Former Registrar of the Ghana Scholarship Secretariat, Dr Kingsley Agyemang, has stated that he is confident investigations into allegations of corruption surrounding scholarship awards will clear his name. Dr Agyemang's lawyers deny any wrongdoing, asserting that he performed his duties with "utmost diligence" during his tenure.

The lawyers criticized the High Commissioner of the United Kingdom and Ireland, Sabah Zita Benson, for her public statements regarding the controversy, calling her comments "false and misleading" and her decision to discuss the matter publicly while investigations are ongoing as "regrettable and unwarranted." The lawyers note that investigations into the allegations have already been initiated by state security and investigative agencies, questioning why the High Commissioner continues to make public comments on the issue.

They also point out that the High Commissioner is not the first to make such allegations against Dr Agyemang while investigations remain pending. Dr Agyemang has cooperated fully with the investigating agencies and remains committed to the rule of law and due process, believing the process will ultimately vindicate him.
