Karachi court acquits drug baroness Anmol ‘Pinky’ in 3 cases

A sessions court in Karachi acquitted alleged drug baroness Anmol, also known as Pinky, in three narcotics cases registered against her. The three cases were filed at Gizri police station in 2020, 2021, and 2022, and Pinky had been declared an absconder. Additional District and Sessions Judge South Irshad Hussain heard her plea for acquittal.

Her counsel argued that the three cases were based on statements from co-accused individuals, who had since been acquitted. The lawyer contended that without the co-accused's testimony, there could be no case against Pinky. According to court records, Pinky was named in a 2021 case by two arrested individuals who claimed she supplied drugs to them.

A supplementary charge sheet submitted by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) later revealed that Pinky faced over a dozen other cases. Pinky was arrested in May, connected to two cases at Garden police station involving drug possession and an unlicensed weapon. She had faced multiple criminal charges prior to her arrest, which gained attention when a viral video showed her being escorted to court without handcuffs.

Since her arrest, Pinky has appeared in court under heavy police scrutiny, alleging that she has faced pressure from law enforcement to provide names of politicians and influential figures.
