Karachi court acquits drug baroness Anmol ‘Pinky’ in 3 cases

Karachi witnessed the acquittal of alleged drug baroness Anmol, also known as Pinky, in three narcotics cases registered by the Gizri police station. The sessions court declared her an absconder after her plea for acquittal was heard by Additional District and Sessions Judge South Irshad Hussain. Pinky's legal team argued that her inclusion in the cases stemmed from statements made by co-accused who were later acquitted.

The court reasoned that there was no basis for conviction against Pinky following the acquittal of these individuals. In one of the cases, Pinky was named by two arrested suspects who alleged she had supplied them with narcotics. A supplementary charge sheet from the Counter-Terrorism Department revealed over a dozen cases registered against her.

Pinky was arrested in May in connection with two cases at the Garden police station, where she was also charged with possessing drugs and an unlicensed weapon. Prior to her arrest, she had been booked in multiple other criminal cases. The case gained significant media attention after a video emerged of her being escorted to court without handcuffs.

Since her arrest, Pinky has appeared in court under heavy police surveillance. During these appearances, she alleged that she has been subjected to pressure by the police to name politicians and influential individuals.
