Jaguars veteran defender climbing training camp depth chart

The Jacksonville Jaguars defensive tackle rotation is evolving in an unexpected manner. Arik Armstead and DaVon Hamilton are expected to lead the way, but the depth chart is expected to feature four or even five players with regular playing time. Normally, Ruke Orhorhoro was considered the No. 3 spot, but according to Jaguars on SI's John Shipley, this is not the case.

Veteran Matt Dickerson seems to be on his way to reclaiming a role in the Jaguars' defense. Initially on the Jaguars' practice squad last season, Dickerson's role expanded and he became a regular member of the defensive tackle rotation. He concluded the season with four quarterback pressures and earned high grades from PFF's metrics against the run.

On the Jaguars' first unofficial depth chart for 2026, Dickerson is listed as Armstead's backup. This indicates that Dickerson will be on the initial 53-man roster and will again have a regular role.
